As a result of good cooperation and common goals pursued by both the economy and the academic community, a visit and training of masters students on the "Electric Power Systems" module was organized by CEDIS engineers.

Within the subject "Electrical distribution systems" taught by Saša Mujović, PhD, a visit and practical work was organized in the premises of CEDIS. The desire of the teaching staff of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Podgorica is to implement teaching in the best and most complete way possible, and in connection with this, this visit was carried out and a carefully selected method of work was carried out in order to respond to the students request that theoretical knowledge be supported by concrete examples from practice and that in our distribution system.

Students had the opportunity to visit the "PG 5" 110/10 kV transformer station in small groups as part of regular classes on the subject "Electrical distribution systems" and participate in the training prepared for them by CEDIS engineers led by Andrija Vujović and an associate at subject "Electrical distribution systems" at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering Miloš Jelovac.

Namely, in the first part of the training, the students listened to and saw on the SCADA software simulation all the practical examples that exist in the electricity distribution network of Montenegro at the voltage level of 35kV but also at the voltage level of 10kV in the territory of Podgorica. They got acquainted with practical examples, the purpose and function of all the elements that they studied and heard about in regular classes during the first half of the winter semester.

Second half of the training was carried out by introducing students to CEDIS development strategy and the problems faced by engineers on a daily basis, as well as the ways in which they are overcome. Topic of cutting-edge technologies that are planned and which implementation is certain in the near future, and which are recognized as very good and expedient in order to increase the quality of the supply of electricity to consumers and facilitate the solving of problems that are presented to engineers in unpredictable situations, was not skipped either.

At the very end, fellow students toured the 10kV plant, got acquainted with all the details and saw the concept of Siemens SF6 gas-insulated plants. Getting to know all the elements and details of the 110kV supply field completed the training and left room for questions and doubts that were not resolved during the training.

Students were more than satisfied with organization of the training and the practical part in which they had the opportunity to participate, thus completing the whole and rounding off their knowledge in the field of electrical distribution systems in the first half of the semester. They expressed their desire to do a similar training after the second colloquium and the materials they will cover in the second half of the semester in order to further refine and complete the results and the process of acquiring knowledge through practical examples and practical work on concrete examples and problems.

Representative of the students of the study module "Electric Power Systems" Đorđije Petrić conveyed his view and the importance of practical classes for students:

"We are very glad that we had the opportunity to visit CEDIS. During the tour of one of the main substations in Podgorica, we had the opportunity to see how the dispatch center works, what the distribution system of Montenegro actually looks like, and the substation plant itself. Colleagues who work in the company were open to all our questions, and solved many dilemmas for our future profession. Such visits mean a lot to us because we have the opportunity to see how the things we study at the university work in practice, and in this way we connect theory with work. As short and insignificant as it may seem, this was an extraordinary and truly rewarding experience. We also hope that in the future there will be more such and similar visits, both for us and for future generations, so that the students knowledge will be at an even more enviable level".

Representative of the team of CEDIS engineers, Mr. Andrija Vujović, believes that such trainings for future engineers are of high importance for the creation of better personnel and good results in economy.

"We are pleased by the fact that the Faculty of Electrical Engineering recognizes the importance of this type of teaching, where students, through practical examples and stories with engineers from the largest energy companies, more easily accept new and broaden existing knowledge." In this way, future colleagues create an image of energy in Montenegro, which crystallizes their interests and chooses future employers accordingly. We are pleased that you were with us today. We sincerely hope that this visit will give wind to all similar ideas, and CEDIS will try to always be a good host. "
