The 9th Mediterranean Conference on Embedded Computing (MECO) opened yesterday at the Hotel Budva. This year, it gathered, through online form, over 650 authors from over 45 countries from five continents, who participate in the work of 15 thematic sections and 30 sessions, which is a record number of participants in this conference, which has been growing steadily since 2012.

The conference began with an introductory lecture by Ralph G. Herrtwich of NVIDIE, one of the largest manufacturers of graphics chips and chip systems for mobile and automotive markets. He talked about designing intelligent systems for automatic vehicles.

The conference is traditionally chaired by Radovan Stojanović, PhD, from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Montenegro and Lech Jozwiak, PhD, from Eindhoven Engineering University.

"After 10 years of work, beyond any doubt, MECO is a Montenegrin brand in science, high technology and innovation. The collection of papers is 2000 pages long and contains only full, strictly peer-reviewed papers. This year, a large increase in participants recorded the workshop Cyber-Physical Systems and Internet -of-Things - CPSIoT2020. MECO is a conference of strong credibility, referred to IEEE, SCOPUS, Web of Science, SCImago, Publons, Google Scholar, ResearchGate and all major databases in the field of computer science, “Professor Stojanovic said.

According to him, the conference has a SJR impact factor from 2012 and H index = 7 according to the American ranking of conferences, and papers from the MECO conference are cited over 5.000 times in Google Scholar, while selected papers are printed in Elsevier's journal from the SCI list "Microprocessors and Microsystems "MIPRO." The MECO consortium consists of 20 renowned institutions, including from Montenegro, the University of Montenegro and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, the Ministry of Science, the MANT Association, the Innovative Company MECOnet, Chikom, Elkon. There are also top institutions of electrical, electronics, telecommunications and computer engineers IEEE, EuroMicro as well as foreign universities Engineering University of Eindhoven, Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade and Zagreb, University of Electrical Engineering in St. Petersburg - LETI, Ryazan University of Rite, Institute of Industrial .
