Tamara Simonović Best Student of the Faculty of Philology for 2022/23
Tamara Simonović, a student of the Faculty of Philology of the University of Montenegro (UMNE) with an average grade of 10, was chosen as the best student of this Faculty and on this occasion she was presented with the award for the greatest success during her studies for academic year 2022/23. Among her goals for the future is enrollment in masters and doctoral studies, because, as she states, this will be a process of continuous learning and acquiring new competencies.
Student says that for her, the award represents satisfaction of progressing and never forgets that every effort pays off in the end.
"In all previous years, I tried not to give in to challenges, adversities, and I can freely say moments that were difficult for me, but which taught me to persevere and, through effort and my own desire, to remain primarily a face whose reflection I will not be ashamed of and who will see herself in every little girl who resolutely overcomes all obstacles and for whom nothing is impossible. This recognition makes me proud and immensely happy, because a great institution like the University of Montenegro recognized every day that I was someone who did not allow life imposes its own rules on him, he has already remained the main player on lifes stage," she said and added that she truly hopes that on the way to the goal, she will walk along her path as she has so far, fighting in her aspirations and grateful for everything that comes.
Tamara believes that for every success you need to have a clear vision and work hard to reach your goal, and when it comes to intellectual improvement, she says that a person is destined to constantly expand his views on the world, as well as his affinities.When it comes to activities at the university, Tamara points out that since she was a scholarship recipient of the Embassy of Belgium, she had the opportunity to acquire new knowledge and make dear friends during the summer school for improving the French language. Also, she states that she was part of the Creative Writing Workshop project that brought together all the students of the French language from the region, and in that way her story gained its valid impression and was published in the book "Tren" on the occasion of Francophonie Day. "As someone who has a constant desire to progress in the field of science he is engaged in, I am a member of all curricular and extracurricular activities at the Faculty, which means that I am also part of the Francophonie program, which is organized every year with the aim of promoting the French language, tradition and literature. Through plays, the French language has become even dearer to me, and I can freely say that the Francophones and their influence are extremely important to me," she said. The best student would like to continue her studies abroad, in France, which would help her get to know and feel the French language even better. "I think that at our University we can acquire such great knowledge and that we owe a great deal of gratitude to our respected professors who unselfishly teach us to approach the material that needs to be dealt with concisely, responsibly and with a lot of effort. Therefore, I have no doubt that each of us who "ever wants to be part of an exchange abroad or decides to continue living his life in another country, have reason for any fear," Tamara said. We convey her message to colleagues and future colleagues in full: "Never be afraid of any risk, but bravely look your aspirations in the eye, no matter how distant and unattainable they may seem. Only if you strive hard enough to realize your ambitions and dreams, you will reach that future which for you at the very beginning was only a dream, as well as for me. Languages are very important in our society because they enable us to effectively present the differences, traditions, culture of everything that surrounds us and what we are and are Also, studying language and literature is like a great adventure at the beginning of which you are not sure what awaits you, but your heart tells you that you are on the right path and that by your choice you have shown that it is important for you to study what without it no reality is valid and that which we must to a large extent skillfully handle whatever other profession they engage in. Read, research constantly, never satisfy your affinities with mediocre achievements, but loyally to your true with these qualities you strive to touch the stars and live your dreams".
