On successful completion of the course, students will be able to: 1. Describe Cartesian, polar and sphere coordinate system and explain how basic geometric objects: point, line, plane, circle, ellipse, parabola and hyperbola can be presented in these coordinate systems. 2. Explain how the equations of a geometric object can be used establish their relation and position in plane and space. 3. Study the properties of geometric objects by using the equations they are described with. 4. Using the method of coordinates, solve some geometric tasks. 5. Using the equation of the second order of two and three variables, classify curves and surfaces of the second order.
