After the student passes this exam, he/she will be able to: • Recognize the basic features of various socio-economic formations (slave-owning society, feudalism, capitalism, socialism); • Analyze social grouping in different socio-economic systems; • Explain the concept of social stratification, mobility and recognize the origin and mechanisms of social inequalities; • Explain the concept of social role and social position; • Study the class-conflict elitist and functional model of society; • Analyze the development of capitalism and socialism as separate social systems, as well as explain the social stratification of the capitalist and socialist social order; • Analyze the modern world system and changes in the social stratification of post-socialist systems.
