Representatives of the Kotor Maritime Faculty at a High-Level Meeting in Zagreb: Improving the Ship Reporting System
At the invitation of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Croatia, Mr. Oleg Butković, representatives of the Kotor Maritime Faculty attended a high-level meeting in Zagreb. The meeting took place within the framework of the project "Adriatic-Ionian joint approach for the development and harmonization of procedures and regulations in the field of navigation safety", the acronym EUREKA (ADRION program). A specific reason for the meeting is activities related to Work Package 2, which refer to the improvement of the reporting system from ships in the Adriatic Sea (ADRIREP).
The meeting was attended by representatives of all project partners, which include the maritime administrations of the countries of the Adriatic-Ionian region and two maritime higher education institutions: the Maritime Faculty of the University of Rijeka and the Kotor Maritime Faculty of the University of Montenegro. In addition to the project partners, the meeting was attended by representatives of the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA), representatives of the European Commission and the Joint Secretariat of the ADRION program. The Maritime Faculty of Kotor was represented by the members of the Steering Committee of the EUREKA project, Dean, Špiro Ivošević, PhD and Assoc. Dr. Zorica Đurović.
Agenda of the meeting included the presentation and voting of documents related to the business and technical requirements for the improvement of the ADRIREP system in the region, as well as the preparation of a Memorandum of Cooperation with the EMSA Agency for technical support in this sense. Also, considering the complexity of the planned and started project activities, which are extremely important for maritime safety in the Region and beyond, the possibility of extending the duration of the project or creating a new one was considered in order to finalize all planned and necessary activities. We remind you that the Central Event of the EUREKA project of the ADRION program, organized and hosted by the Maritime Faculty of Kotor, was successfully realized last Sunday in Kotor.
