FUNK Theater: Duodrama "Prst" at the technical faculties on October 16

The duodrama "Prst" will be performed at the Technical Faculties of the University of Montenegro (UCG) in Podgorica on Wednesday, October 16, at 7:00 PM, as part of the UCGs Festival of Art, Science, and Culture (FUNK).

Maša Božović and Milica Kekić Martinović deliver compelling portrayals of a mother, who believes her son is still alive because he was never found, and a daughter-in-law, for whom her husband is dead because he never returned. The story delves into the complex emotions of loss and the internal struggle to accept it. The two actresses employ minimalist acting techniques, weaving a carefully crafted narrative that resonates with subtle emotional nuances.

"Prst" originated as a graduation project by acting students Milica Kekić Martinović and Maša Božović, under the mentorship of Anđelija Rondović, in the class of Professor Branimir Popović.

Premiered in 2022, the play has since participated in numerous international festivals, earning five awards: best partnership, best performance, best female role, best acting achievement, and best performance by audience vote.

"Prst" is a story of two women from Balkan society, trapped in the past, in a day that strips them of the meaning of existence, drains their motivation for the future, and forces them to surrender to customs and arduous routine. It is the story of a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law who, despite their differences, have only each other. Their wounds both heal and deepen through a shared life that binds them together. The play reflects on how the ghosts of the past still control their lives, even when the storms fail to bring back those they await. Ultimately, it is a story of liberation.
