BBC World Travel Show is filming with the Laboratory for Maritime Archaeology

The successes and innovations of the Laboratory of Maritime Archaeology, University of Montenegro, have attracted the cameras of the globally renowned BBC World Travel Show series.

The extraordinary multidisciplinary research and innovative presentations of the past conducted by the Laboratory for Maritime Archaeology team will be showcased to viewers worldwide through fascinating 3D models, WRECKS4ALL virtual reality, and dives on sunken ships in the Bay of Kotor.

The Laboratory team and presenter Carmen Roberts, with the support of the Adriatic Blue diving center from Herceg Novi, will present attractive tourist potentials and historical stories of Montenegrin underwater world in an episode dedicated to Montenegro. The theme through which the Laboratory team will present itself is the digitization of underwater cultural heritage and the production of media that convey not only historical messages but also the experience of visiting these valuable sites hidden beneath the sea surface.

The show will reveal the research potential of the Laboratory and the University of Montenegro, after which the team will film underwater, diving on wrecks in the Bay of Kotor in the waters of Herceg Novi.

Participation in the BBC World Travel Show is not only an opportunity to present the unique underwater heritage of Montenegro but also an opportunity to highlight the importance of preserving and researching these precious sites. The Laboratory team thanks for the great support received from the National Tourist Organization of Montenegro, the Maritime Safety Administration, as well as partners from the Bay of Kotor who recognize the contribution and importance of the development of underwater archaeology and responsible underwater tourism in Montenegro.
