Learning outcomes:

After passing the exam, the student will be able to: • Explain thermodynamics, mechanism and kinetics of dissociation and formation of chemical compounds; • Knows the process of reduction of pure oxides and reduction of oxides from solution using gaseous and solid reductants; • Defines processes in the metal-sulfur-oxygen system; • Defines the functions, structure and properties of slag, as well as its role in metallurgical processes, • Interprets the basics of thermodynamics and reaction kinetics in the metal-slag-gas system; • Knows the basic hydrometallurgical processes (dissolution, purification of the solution and extraction of useful components from the solution).
