Maritime Faculty Kotor Presented on the Festival Day of Science and Innovations

At the Kotor Maritime Faculty of the University of Montenegro, on October 1, 2022, the "Days of Science and Innovation" were officially opened as part of the program to encourage innovative culture of the Ministry of Science and Technological Development of Montenegro with the support of the University of Montenegro.

On that occasion, the Faculty had the honor of hosting the Minister of Science and Technological Development, Biljana Šćepanović, PhD, with colleagues. The guests were welcomed by the vice dean for development and innovation, Tatijana Dlabač, PhD, and officials of the Ministry had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the resources and activities of the Kotor Maritime Faculty. Among other things, they were presented with modern study and research concepts that are being implemented at the Faculty, which include the application of numerous sophisticated simulations of ship operations and processes, including navigation, the machine complex and the ships electrical and energy system. In addition, numerous project activities are briefly presented thanks to which the Faculty constantly strengthens its scientific and technological capacities. In this sense, the Center for Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship is of particular interest to visitors and the general public, which includes a laboratory for fuel testing, a newly opened laboratory for underwater archeology and underwater research, a laboratory for 3D modeling and printing, as well as the so-called Smart Bay laboratory for measuring and monitoring potential air pollution in the Bay area. Minister Šćepanović expressed her gratitude to the management and staff of the Maritime Faculty of Kotor for their willingness to participate in the "Days of Science and Innovation" event, which is now traditionally held in the organization of the Ministry of Science and Technological Development of Montenegro. The Minister expressed particular satisfaction with getting to know the new scientific and technological capacities and innovations implemented at the Maritime Faculty, which are important both for the University and for the scientific and technological promotion of Montenegro. With gratitude for the warm reception and the organization of the event itself, in which the Kotor Maritime Faculty hosted over 200 primary and secondary school students from various cities in Montenegro, Minister Šćepanović also emphasized the importance of the fact that the Kotor Maritime Faculty opened its doors to all generations of our society in within which he presented part of the educational process that this Faculty deals with, but also the scientific and technological achievements to which the Faculty makes its significant contribution within the framework of the University and the whole of Montenegro. As already mentioned, guided by the slogan "Day of Science and Innovation: Dream, Create, Inspire", representatives of the Maritime Faculty of Kotor, in addition to representatives of the Ministry, hosted a large number of primary and secondary school students today. Dear and cheerful guests of the Faculty were students of primary schools: "National Hero Savo Ilić" from Kotor, "Hunting Partisan Squad" from Cetinje, "Kekec" from Sutomore, as well as students of the Maritime High School from Kotor and Gymnasium from Cetinje with their teachers.Guests of the event were students from the Maritime Academy "Mircea cel Bătrân" from Constanta, Romania, who will spend the current academic semester at the Faculty as part of the ERASMUS+ student mobility program. Along with professors, associates and non-teaching staff, the Maritime Faculty was represented today by students and partner institutions of the Maritime Faculty Kotor. On this occasion, we would like to express our special thanks to the colleagues and students of the Maritime Faculty of Kotor who took part in the organization of the "Days of Science and Innovation" event at our Faculty.
