Capacities of Navigation and Maritime Transport Study Program Fulfilled in the First Term

Places on the study program Navigation and Maritime Transport of the Faculty of Maritime Sciences Kotor were filled in the first deadline last year. This year, as in the previous, 260 places for students have been proposed for Navigation and Maritime Transport at the Faculty as well as 80 and 60 seats for Shipbuilding, Maritime Electric Engineering and Management in Maritime and Logistics.

Vice-Dean for lecture of the Faculty of Maritime Sciences, Milena Dzeverdanovic-Pejovic says that the previous enrollment was marked by the outstanding quality of high school students, students with excellent and good success.

 ‘In addition to the Navigation study program and Maritime Transport, the Maritime and Logistics Management, Shipbuilding, and Marine Electrical Engineering have also recorded a good trend of enrolment,’ the Vice-dean said.

For the purpose of enrollment, she adds, candidates need to have a passable school.

 ‘While for the study program Navigation and Maritime Transport the passing  schools are gymnasiums, the secondary educational profile of the IV degree (maritime: shipbuilding and nautical course, transport), for the programs Shipbuilding and Maritime Electrical Engineering, in addition to the mentioned, secondary school pupils can apply for: electrical engineering, , transport, construction, geodesy. Maritime and Logistics Management require gymnasiums and secondary education profiles of IV degree - economics, tourism, trade, hospitality, law, maritime, mechanical engineering, transport, construction, geodesy,’ Djerdanovic-Pejovic states.

There is no entrance examination at the Faculty, but an additional examination in English and mathematics is organized for candidates who do not have an external exam after regular exams at the end of a high school, she explains.

 ‘This year's lecture will be implemented, as before, a quality staff of the Faculty of Maritime Studies and staff from the University of Montenegro, and we will also engage experts from the profession. The emphasis is on intensifying practical lecture, expanding lecturing bases and linking students with business entities and representatives of renowned maritime companies,’ Djevdendanovic-Pejovic said.

In addition, she stressed, exchange programs contribute to students learning about studying systems in related study programs at faculties in the region and abroad and to compare and enrich their knowledge, especially in terms of applying new audio and visual materials used in practical training and innovation of literature.
