After completing the practical course in Family Medicine, a medical student shoulds: 1. Understand the functioning of the PHC system and the role of "gatekeeper". Knows how to assess which problems can be resolved at the PHC level, and which require referring the patient to higher levels of health care. 2. Have mastered the basic principles of communication with patients in a primary health care. 3. Be capable of analyzing symptoms and signs in patients, recognizing the most common diseases and conditions, and making a preliminary diagnosis, and is able to assess which further diagnostic procedures are needed to address the patients problem. 4. Be equipped to care for the health of the families. 5. Be equipped to provide health care in home conditions. 6. Value ethical principles and understand the forensic and medical aspect of activities in PHC.
