FUNK Exhibition: 3D Printed World

The exhibition “3D Printed World”, organized by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Montenegro (UMNE) as part of the Festival of Arts, Science, and Culture, will be held at the UMNE Rectorate on October 7th, starting at 12:00.
Exhibition presents results of years-long student projects carried out supported by various institutions, including the Innovation Fund, the Bureau for Education, the Central Bank, and the Library for the Blind. The projects focused on innovations in inclusive education, 3D printing of didactic toys and kindergarten furniture, some of which have been showcased at prestigious events such as Milan Design Week and the UN Headquarters in Vienna. In addition, in cooperation with the Central Bank, a project was realized on 3D printing of Montenegrin perper banknotes, which are preserved in the Museum of Money in Cetinje.
A third important segment of the exhibition is installation “Culture for All”, created in collaboration with the Library for the Blind and the Homer Cultural Centre, which promotes inclusivity in culture. The works of young creatives, including 3D-scanned and printed cultural monuments, contribute to making cultural content accessible to persons with disabilities, particularly the blind and visually impaired.
The exhibition is at the same time both recognition of the innovation of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering students, recipients of UNESCO awards, and confirmation of the University of Montenegro’s social responsibility.
The author of this segment of the Festival of Arts, Science, and Culture program is Milena Đukanović, PhD, from the UMNE Faculty of Electrical Engineering.
As a reminder, the Festival of Arts, Science, and Culture – FUNK was launched last year as part of celebration of the 50th anniversary of the University of Montenegro, with the aim of promoting art, science, and culture, academic programs, as well as the scientific and artistic output of students and faculty. This year, from October 1st to November 1st, it brings 30 programs across nine festival segments: Speakers’ Corner, Forum, Cinema, Theatre, Exhibition, Book, Workshops, Sports, and Music.
