The Music Academy in Cetinje was founded in 1980 in Titograd as one of the faculties of the University of Montenegro "Veljko Vlahović." Today, its headquarters are in Cetinje, housed in the building of the former British Embassy, located in the historical core of Montenegros capital.
As the largest and most important educational institution for music in Montenegro, the Music Academy follows contemporary trends in music pedagogy and achievements in the field of musical arts. Through its curriculum, it educates young and talented professionals capable of contributing to the artistic and musical development of their country and the region, aligning with modern European standards.
The mission of the Music Academy is to expand and enhance knowledge, learning, and skills while maintaining full openness to collaboration with similar institutions and other relevant entities from both the immediate and broader environment.
The academy offers undergraduate and masters studies in programs such as General Music Pedagogy and Performing Arts – Conducting, as well as performance in piano, string instruments, wind instruments, guitar, and accordion.
Beyond providing higher education in music pedagogy and performing arts, the Music Academy in Cetinje actively participates in Montenegro’s cultural life by organizing concerts, music workshops, and festivals. Its students not only acquire theoretical knowledge but also develop practical skills through numerous performances and projects during their studies. Additionally, the academy continuously collaborates with renowned artists and institutions from the region and Europe, offering students a wide range of opportunities for professional and artistic growth.
