The training of the second generation of students of the StartUp academy Rise-T has started

The second generation of the StartUp Academy called Rise-T, organized by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Montenegro in cooperation with the company Amplitudo, officially started operating yesterday, February 25, 2021.

This year as well, the Academy will be attended by six teams, i.e. 24 students of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and the Faculty of Science and Mathematics, and eminent mentors are in charge of their training and guidance on the way to the realization of final ideas and presentations. After the training, the final student competition will be held in early June.

Coordinator of the Academy full prof. Vesna Popović-Bugarin, PhD said that the first working meeting of the organizers, teams and mentors was held online, given the overall epidemiological situation.

"Participation in the Academy itself is a big step for students to show their courage and readiness to step into the unknown and acquire new knowledge that exceeds the limits of classical academic education. On the other hand, students are promised invaluable experience of direct cooperation with professionals who are ready to pass on to them its many years of experience", pointed out Popović-Bugarin.

After presenting the concept of the academy, teams and mentors, the students had the opportunity to learn what the final presentation of their idea should look like, what to pay special attention to, and what ideas have the greatest potential. Đuro Stojanović told the students that they should not think limited by the space of Montenegro and solve only local problems, but go towards ideas that have a global application and a wide market.

Mentors who will train students during the Academy are: Ljubo Knežević, Chief Engineer for Network Analysis in the Montenegrin Electricity Transmission System CGES and President of the Investment Agency of Montenegro, Đuro Stojanović, co-founder of Uhura Solutions, UK-based AI fintech startup, Nenad Novović, CEO Amplitude, Saša Leković, Telenor's CEO for Serbia and Montenegro, Branko Mitrović, Telenor's CEO of Montenegro, Jasna Pejović, CEO of DigitalBee and co-founder of startup Flourish.

Commentators will work with the teams and train them through thematic modules: Sava Laketić, PWC Director for Montenegro, Darko Ivanović, founder of The Badger Crew and communications expert, Aleksandar Janičić, project manager at Tehnopolis, Boris Banjac, Product Owner Lead in Amplitude…
