Visit of female students from the University of Montenegro to the Peoples Republic of China: A blend of tradition and modernization

Five female students from the University of Montenegro were selected in the contest run by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Montenegro based on their academic performance and motivational letters. The students had the opportunity to visit the cities of Beijing, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou in the People’s Republic of China. The students who participated in this study visit were:

Azra Šoljanin, a doctoral student at the Faculty of Medicine, study programme: Pharmacy,

Tereza Vujošević, a masters student at the Faculty of Law, study programme: International Law,

Tilia Lazarević, a masters student at the Faculty of Maritime Studies Kotor, study programme: Maritime Management and Logistics,

Anastasija Dobrilović, an undergraduate student at the Faculty of Political Sciences, study programme: Political Science,

Dejana Pudar, an undergraduate student at the Faculty of Maritime Studies Kotor, study programme: Nautical Science and Maritime Transport.

Professor Dr Enis Kočan from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering was also among the members of the delegation from the University of Montenegro.

As part of a content-rich itinerary, the delegation visited Peking University, University of Foreign Studies in Guangzhou, and two hospitals affiliated with Guangzhou Medical University. The itinerary also included visits to science parks, ICT companies, the Guangzhou Port Authority, various thematic exhibitions, historical landmarks, and contemporary architectural achievements symbolising modern China.

Through impeccable organisation and hospitality, China Public Diplomacy Association, which hosted the University of Montenegro delegation, presented China’s rich culture and history as well as the charm of its modernisation and openness to the world, a seamless blend of tradition and modernity across various fields. Numerous established connections provide an excellent foundation for further collaboration between the University of Montenegro and academic institutions and companies from China.
