A seminar was held for Montenegrin partners on ADRION projects

On Tuesday, June 8, 2021, a seminar for partner institutions on ADRION projects from Montenegro was held in Podgorica. The seminar was organized by the Office for European Integration of the Government of Montenegro, based on the expressed interest of Montenegrin institutions participating in ADRION projects dedicated to investing in innovative systems, cultural and natural heritage, environmental protection, sustainable transport and mobility, as well as building necessary capacity. Connecting eight partner countries, ADRION aims to form administrative frameworks and launch innovative management systems for the benefit of more than 70 million inhabitants of the Adriatic and Ionian regions. In addition to the representatives of the Maritime Faculty of Kotor, University of Montenegro, the seminar was attended by representatives of the Maritime Safety and Port Management Authority from Bar and representatives of the Capital.

Lecturers at the seminar were Mr. Miloš Marković, contact person for the ADRION program at the national level (National Contact Point) in front of the Office for European Integration, Ms. Milica Brković, First Level Controller within the Ministry of Finance and social welfare, and through the online application, the presentation was held by the representative of the Joint Secretariat for projects of the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA), Ms. Jelena Kolić.

Mr. Marković's presentation referred to general procedures related to the implementation of ADRION projects, the reporting process, related to communication and promotional activities and procedures for VAT exemption. Ms. Brković instructed those present in the rules on eligibility of costs, issuance of certificates and verification of costs, while Ms. Kolić's presentation referred to the procedures for conducting public procurement.

The lecturers also answered the specific questions of the attendees regarding the individual projects in which they participate and expressed their readiness to be available to ADRION partners in our country for all information and instructions regarding the implementation of third call projects for the Adriatic-Ionian region. The obtained information and cooperation with the representative of the program and the controller of the first level will be of great benefit to the project team of the Faculty of Maritime Studies Kotor, especially considering the upcoming first reporting period for the project "Adriatic-Ionian Joint Approach for Development and Harmonization of Procedures and Regulations” in the field of navigation safety, known under the acronym EUREKA.
