As part of the Mission4Water project, Zero Waste Montenegro organized a workshop and matchmaking event on March 28 at the European House in Podgorica. The event aimed to unite key stakeholders—including companies, institutions, and government agencies—to address the pressing issue of water pollution in Montenegro.

The workshop gathered representatives from governmental bodies, research institutions, universities, and water treatment facilities, providing a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange, the presentation of research findings, and open discussion on the challenges posed by microplastic pollution in aquatic environments.

The Faculty of Maritime Studies Kotor was represented by Dijana Radović, who presented the JOINABLE project, implemented under the Interreg IPA Adrion program. Radović discussed the project’s initiatives to promote a blue circular economy, focusing on innovative approaches to addressing marine and freshwater litter.

The workshop underscored the importance of collaboration among researchers, institutions, and policymakers in combating water pollution. By sharing expertise and scientific knowledge, participants contributed to a broader dialogue on effective solutions for reducing microplastic contamination and strengthening environmental policy.

The Faculty of Maritime Studies Kotor is proud to contribute to these vital discussions and remains committed to advancing research and sustainable solutions for the protection of Montenegro’s water resources.
