Gold medal for the premium red wine Vranac from the Biotechnical Faculty of UCG

At the 91st International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad, held from May 18th to 23rd, 2024, the premium red wine Vranac from the Biotechnical Faculty of the University of Montenegro (2022 vintage) won the gold medal for quality. This important recognition at the largest and most significant agricultural event in the Balkans and Southeastern Europe, and one of the ten largest fairs in Europe, is yet another confirmation of the superior quality of wines from the Biotechnical Faculty produced at the Experimental Estate "Lješkopolje."

In the past 16 years, wines from almost every vintage have won gold medals and trophies at prestigious international fairs. By winning this medal, the Biotechnical Faculty of UCG continues its golden streak on the domestic and international wine scene. It is also a reward and recognition for the enormous effort and knowledge that have been invested in this production for decades.

The wine "Vranac" was created as a blend of tradition and knowledge with an extraordinary terroir. It is produced in limited quantities from the indigenous grape variety Vranac.

The specific agroecological conditions, the uniqueness of the Vranac variety, the excellent quality of the grapes, and the production technology based on scientific principles give a distinctive mark to this wine. The wine is ruby red in color, with a pronounced varietal aroma, and a harmonious and full taste.
