In the situation caused by the COVID 19 virus, it has been shown how important agriculture and own food production are for safety of each individual and for normal functioning of society, Snjezana Hrncic says, Vice-Dean for Teaching at the Biotechnical Faculty of the University of Montenegro.

"Knowing the importance of our own agricultural production and awareness that we have from the field that a large number, especially young people, of people has become interested and started their own production for the first time, gives us the right to expect a great response to enrolment in our study programs," she said.

Promotion of the Biotechnical Faculty, Vice Dean Hrnčić explains, is also contributed by the large number of personal contacts that most of their employees have with agricultural producers, to the mutual satisfaction.

Number of students who will be able to enrol in study programs at the Biotechnical Faculty of the University of Montenegro this year will be determined, as she announced, at the end of May, in accordance with the license and space capacities.

"Interested candidates, all information related to enrolment in the faculty and study programs that we disseminate, are available on the official website of the Biotechnical Faculty and are published in the latest Prospectus of the University of Montenegro for the study 2020/2021 available on the University website," Vice-Dean Hrnčić said.

Information on enrolment is also available in the Rulebook on Detailed Conditions, Criteria and Procedure for enrolment in the first year of undergraduate studies at the University of Montenegro.

According to Vice-Dean Hrnčić, greatest interest and the largest number of enrolled students is traditionally related to academic study program Plant Production, where all vacancies are filled every year in the first enrolment period, while in the study program Animal Production places are mostly filled in the second enrolment period.

"Study programs at the Biotechnical Faculty can be enrolled by candidates who have completed high school, licensed religious high schools and all secondary vocational schools. The subjects that are scored during enrollment are biology and chemistry, and candidates who did not have these subjects in the third and fourth grade can take them. through the differential exam,” she said.

Last year, 60 students were enrolled in the study program Plant Production, and 35 students in the study program Animal Production.

"The Faculty of Biotechnology also implements two applied study programs for which 43 students are enrolled. 25 students are enrolled in the study program Continental Fruit Growing and Medicinal Plants in Bijelo Polje, and 18 students in the study program Mediterranean Fruit Growing in Bar," the Vice-Dean Hrnčić said.
