Amanda Dibra, the best student at the Biotechnical Faculty for the academic year 2020/21

A student at the Biotechnical Faculty of the University of Montenegro of the study program Mediterranean fruit, Amanda Dibra (9.86) is the best student of this Faculty and on that occasion she will be rewarded for the best success during her studies for the academic year 2020/21.

“I perceive this award exclusively as a way of recognition for the hard work and commitment during my studies. I believe that GPA is not a relevant measure of success but practice and expertise. Many of my colleagues possess knowledge and expertise and in that way have positive impact on the development of our profession”, said the student.

She says that on the path towards success there was no renunciation, that is, that she saw all the time dedicated to this success as an investment in herself.

“The path of a student from the beginning to the end of his studies is full of challenges, however those challenges can be overcome relatively easy if there is a clearly defined goal and path towards that goal and which is in any case a successful completion of the studies”, said Amanda.

She says that at the Biotechnical Faculty a focus was on the theory that should be applied in practice. Practice was in a form of terrain classes, which is a very important segment in professional development because through the practice the student has the opportunity to implement their knowledge in the most useful way possible. Personally to me it meant a lot, we studied in groups and somehow we were all much more relieved and it is much easier to overcome endeavors together", she added.

The tasks and goals that she set for herself for the upcoming period and are in the domain of professional development, refer to further education that will continue in Montenegro.

“I will primarily work on knowledge and moral values and principles which, in my opinion, influence the formation of me as an individual who can contribute to the community in its full capacity. Success is a relative category, its meaning depends on the individual, so we all achieve success of different kinds on a daily basis" said Amanda.

The student believes that the people who run the country will recognize and adequately support the young generations who sacrifice their time and personal interests for the development of the community, i.e. the state.

She addresses the following words to future students of the Biotechnical Faculty: "Although five years seems like a long period, it passes quickly, and the entire study experience is truly unforgettable. You will have safe development and perspective, primarily due to acquiring new knowledge, skills and friendships.

The UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) estimates that world food production should increase by as much as 70 percent by 2050 in order to meet the needs of the future nine billion inhabitants of the planet. Therefore, I believe that this choice is the most promising in the future".
