Foundation for Science Promotion PRONA and Faculty of Meschanical Engineering hae organized the Eco-Ideathlon, exhibition of electric automobiles within the exhibition salon in the E-mobility laboratory.

Citizens had the opportunity to get acquainted with performances of electric automobiles, their significance for environment protection and other benefits they provide. Models presented at the exhibition were Volkswagen ID.3, Volkswagen ID.4, Kangoo MAXI Z.E, Renalut ZOE and Nissan Leaf. Also, Montenegrin public were introduced with the chargers for electric automobiles Schneider Electric and Kempower,  by companz EVC Montenegro.

Coordinator of the projct, Tijana Lopičić – Vasić, said to Ecoportal that the aim of the exhibition is to promote E-mobility and environment protection.

-This exhibition was organized within the project „Environment protection through education on E-mobility“, financed within IPA programme. We believe that this exhibition will inform citizens, public and private sector, about the E-mobilnost – she added.

Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Enginering, , Igor Vušanović, said that they learn and apply new technologies and promote green energy.

-Traffic exists within the study programme and is one of the topics we deal with. We have to contribute more to electrification of traffic. Amongst other, our contribution is forming the laboratory for E-mobility where we have a charge where electric vehicles could be charged free of any payments. Also, we have installed solar power system, and received consent from the CEDIS for its connection, and it will be operative soon. In this way, vehicles will be charged only with renewable energy resources –Vušanović pointed.

As he said, they have planned many other projects, and one of the novelties is that they have a specialized drones for recording the traffic pollution.

-We will soon have a mapped image of the city, which will help to recognize critical traffic points and what to do in order to decrease air pollution –Vušanović said.

Through the establishment of the E–mobility laboratory, where one of the first chargers for electrical vehicles is installed, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Montenegro has recognized the importance of introducing electrical vehicles in Montenegro, as well as their role in electrification of transport.
