Agreement on Cooperation between the University of Montenegro and Ural Federal University

Rector of the University of Montenegro Prof. Dr. Vladimir Božović and the Director of the School of Public Administration and Entrepreneurship of Ural Federal University Prof. Dr. Aleksei Konstantinovich Kliuev (Алексей Константинович Клюев) agreed today the fundamental framework of cooperation in the field of science, research and education. Cooperation will be formalized through signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with one of the biggest state universities in Russia.

Rector Božović pointed out that in comparison with the Russian universities the University of Montenegro is a small but an ambitious university that welcomes every initiative for collaboration, especially in the field of science. He added that in view of this, special focus is put on increasing the overall scientific rating where the experience of this Russian university will be useful.

Rector Božović and the Vice-rector for Internationalization Prof. Dr. Sanja Peković presented the University of Montenegro and models of cooperation, mainly through mechanisms of mobility programmes such as Erasmus+ and CEEPUS. It was pointed out that the University of Montenegro has bilateral cooperation with 10 universities from Russia.

Director Kliuev, who is at the same time the editor-in-chief of the journal „University Managemet“ and head of the UNESCO Chair on University Management and Planning  introduced during the meeting one of the leading and biggest state universities in Russia, established in 1920. The University is located in Yekaterinburg – the fourth biggest town in Russia with a population exceeding a million and a half, where World University Games will be held in 2023.

Ural Federal University is continuously working on building its global reputation and is ranked among the best universities in the world. Currently, it is ranked 351st in QS World University Rankings (2021).

Director Kliuev expressed special interest for cooperation with Montenegrin scientists through work on joint scientific papers that would be published in the scientific journals of this University.

More than 460 undergraduate, master’s and doctoral programmes are offered by this university in Natural Sciences, Engineering, Social Sciences and Humanities in Russian and English language. Currently it has more than 36.000 students, among which more than 4.400 international students from 101 countries of the world.

School of Public Administration and Entrepreneurship actively develops curricula (at undergraduate, master’s and doctoral level) and research in areas such as Public Administration, Sociology, Social Policy and Administration, Economy and Management (especially in international trade and entrepreneurship), Public Relations and Law.
