The MARDS project: The first generation of the international PhD studies “Sustainable Development” at the study visit in Slovenia

Eight students of the first generation of the international PhD studies Sustainable Development of the University of Montenegro, were rewarded with a 15-20 days long study visit to the University of Maribor. This is the first PhD programme, established as a result of the Erasmus+ capacity building programme in the area of higher education and the project Reforming doctoral studies in Montenegro and Albania - good practice paradigm (MARDS).

Head of the programme, Prof. Dr. Radovan Stojanović, said that the project envisages that each students of the Sustainable Development programme will spend part of their studies at one of the partner EU faculties. 

„The key partner in the realization of this programme from the EU is the University of Maribor, with which the University of Montenegro has signed the agreement on joint realization of the PhD programme Sustainable Development“. Coordination of this cooperation is Prof. Dr. Matjaž Debevc, fiend of the University of Montenegro who participated in the realization of a significant number of partner projects with the University of Montenegro, such was the project on the introduction of biomedical engineering at the University of Montenegro“. Besides him, others engaged in realization of teaching are Prof. Dr. Dušan Gleich, Prof. Dr. Boštjan Polajžer, Prof. Dr. Iztok Fister, Prof. Dr. Aida Kamišalić Latifić, as well as Prof. Dr. Sašo Karakatič", professor Stojanović said.

He expressed his hope that at least five students of this programme will manage to get qualitied with qualitative proposals for study visits.
