Monitoring

The monitoring service includes monitoring the state and quality of communication lines and services in the AMUCG network, reporting to users on appropriate statistics, the so-called. SLA (Service Level Agreement), as well as monitoring the traffic structure in the network.

CIS conducts regular monitoring of Internet connections and the backbone of the AMUCG network, including connections and services for faculties and other institutions connected to CIS. Data on the state and statistics of AMUCG infrastructure and services are publicly available at http://netmon.cis.ac.me.

Faculties and other institutions in the AMUCG network may additionally request monitoring of the operation of their internal servers and services or other parameters of interest. In the event that these additional data do not have a public character, we will be available to authorized representatives of the institutions (who will access the system via a username and password).

CIS also realizes the monitoring of the traffic structure at the level of individual institutions, which is read from central communication devices by means of the Cisco NetFlow protocol. In this way, data on the amount and type of traffic of individual institutions is collected. The amount of traffic is monitored in bits per second (bps - bits per second), packets per second (pps - packets per second) and connections per second (fps - flows per second). The type of traffic is monitored at the level of individual networks and devices within institutions, communication services - applications (web, email, FTP, DNS, etc.), protocols (TCP, UDP, ICMP, etc.) and applied quality of service - QoS markers.

The system for monitoring the quantity and type of traffic is not publicly available.
