Erasmus Projects of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Montenegro is partner within three Erasmus plus projects, such as: REBUS, EVIVA and TRAFSAF.

‘’REBUS, Ready for BUSiness (Integrating and validating practical entrepreneurship skills in engineering and ICT studies) has gathered an impressive consortium of 14 universities and corporation teams from eight countries (Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy, Germany, Austria, Albania, Kosovo and Russia). The aim of the project was to develop entrepreneurial competencies of students from technical studies in the Western Balkans countries and Russia. REBUS partners from EU gave a strong support in incorporation of entrepreneurship in our system of education through monitoring development of our training module on entrepreneurship and training of teaching staff and students. Thus set of innovative, entrepreneurial-oriented training modules integrated into existing curricula are developed through REBUS project. The project established system for validation of competencies in the final phase, which resulted in possibilities for issuing certificates of developed entrepreneurial competencies of students who have passed all training phases. Two generations of students from the field of entrepreneurship are trained within this project. Rebus generation of students, 14 of them had the opportunity to pass the training at the University of Palermo after training at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. Certificates for the first generation of REBUS project students are awarded by the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in celebration of the 49th anniversary of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. Certificates of the second generation of REBUS project (16 students) will be awarded by the end of the year. Detailed information about REBUS project may be found on the following website:

Erasmus plus project EVIVA (Enhancing and Validating service related competences in Versatile learning environments in Western Balkan Universities) presents natural continuation of the Rebus Project. EVIVA project will develop set of innovative training modules oriented to the development of personal and social competencies that will be integrated into existing curricula to a certain extent. EVIVA partners from EU countries will support development of these learning modules and already mentioned competencies among students. Two-month training for ten students of the University of Montenegro (mainly from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering) at the University of Skopje concerning topic of development of social, personal and organizational competencies important for the work in business environment is predicted by EVIVA project. The project will establish system for validation of these competencies enabling students to obtain certificates in the final phase.

TRAFSAF project (TRAFic SAFety, Improving the Traffic Safety in the Western Balkan Countries through Curriculum Innovation and Development of Undergraduate and Master Studies) has for the aim the identification of key questions in the field of traffic safety, which began in late 2018.

Project deals with: improving the quality of higher education in the field of transport and traffic; strengthening the relevance for labor market and society; increasing the level of competencies and skills off experts in the Western Balkans countries (Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina); the improvement of existing curricula in accordance with trends in EU; improvement or development, accreditation and implementation of undergraduate/master study programs at partner higher education institutions; creating new training programs of traffic safety with materials for training; specialization of teaching staff based on the modern knowledge for education towards new/ enhanced programs; introduction of advanced teaching process and learning; introduction of new laboratory equipment, library units and software needed for the continuation of study programs.

In terms of previously mentioned development and implementation of new/ modernized curricula for doctoral and master studies, in accordance with the Bologna Requirements and national standards of accreditation are main aims of project, and according to that and the development of educative trainings and materials for training of experts in traffic safety, which will be ultimately expected to decrease the number deaths, injuries and economic losses resulting from car accidents.
