Student Parliament of the University of Montenegro
The Student Parliament of the University of Montenegro (SPUMNE) is an institutional representative body of students at the University of Montenegro that represents a population of more than 20,000 students.
Since its establishment on May 31, 2004, the Student Parliament has continuously worked to improve conditions of student life and reinforce the student population in Montenegro. With representatives in the Steering Committee, the Senate, the Ethical Committee, the Quality Assurance Centre of the University of Montenegro and the Higher Education Council, the Student Parliament participates in the decision-making process on behalf of students, with minimum 20% participation in each of the governing bodies at the University of Montenegro.
With its mission, the Student Parliament of UMNE makes the student population a category of population whose voice is heard and whose interests are respected. For this purpose, the achievement that requires support of all structures of society, student activism, involvement in social processes and social life are encouraged. Since May 2016, the Student Parliament of the University of Montenegro has been a full member of the European Student Union (ESU) - umbrella organization of national student unions from all over Europe, raising its activities to an international level.
The Student Parliament implements programs in fields of higher education, science, culture and sports, and cooperates with institutions, establishments and organizations important for the position of students. The most important projects of our organization are the "Summer Job" seasonal job fair, the "Student solidarity" project, numerous educational, humanitarian and cultural projects, as well as student competitions that are held both at the university and state level.
President of the Student Parliament
The President of SPUMNE performs the most important and responsible function in our organization. The task is to represent and advocate rights and interests of students of the University of Montenegro through the SPUMNE, to convene and chair sessions of the SPUMNE Assembly, composed of representatives of all student councils at all units of the University of Montenegro, as well as to organize and coordinate work of the Student Parliament of the University of Montenegro and to perform other duties stipulated by the Statute of the SPUMNE.
Function of President of the Student Parliament of the University of Montenegro in the mandate period 2022-2024 is performed by Andrej Vukčević, student trustee of the Faculty of Law.

Student trustee at the University of Montenegro The Student Commissioner at the University of Montenegro assists the President in achieving goals of the Student Parliament of UMNE, coordinates work of students at the level of the University of Montenegro, represents interests and goals of the Student Parliament of UMNE and is responsible for cooperation with the University of Montenegro and all its bodies. In addition to the previously mentioned activities, rights and competences of the Student Commissioner are defined by the Statute of the SPUMNE, as well as other internal and legal acts of the organization. The position of Student Trustee at SPUMNE, in the mandate period 2022-2024, is performed by Filip Vujović, Student Trustee of the Faculty of Philosophy. Student Ombudsman of the University of Montenegro One of the most important bodies of the Student Parliament is the Student Ombudsman of the University of Montenegro, who protects student rights and legitimate interests. Based on the Statute of the Student Parliament, duty of the student ombudsman is to receive complaints, requests and requests from students, and to act on them in order to protect the rights of students of the University of Montenegro. General Secretary of SPUMNE The General Secretary is in charge of planning, managing and coordinating the work of organizational units, as well as harmonizing work of the SPUMNE with internal and legal acts of the organization and the University. It also works on collecting, controlling and processing data and preparing reports and information on the work of the SPUMNE Assembly.
