A mechatronic engineering degree is ideal for someone who would like a broad knowledge of engineering.

Mechatronic Engineering is concerned with the design of automated machines. It is based on a combination of mechanical, electronics and software engineering.

Mechatronics engineers have a deep understanding of the performance analysis and design of complex machines. Its practitioners understand how automations can be designed and integrated into a machine very effectively to achieve an outcome.

A mechatronics engineer is capable of thinking holistically about a mechatronic system, rather than focussing on certain domain specific elements such as the mechanical system or the software. An understanding of how to model a system from a power perspective (rather than thinking in terms of voltages or forces) is fundamental to this.

Graduates have knowledge of engineering mechanics, construction and operation of machinery, electronics, computer science, automation and control. Have the ability to integrate this knowledge in the design, manufacture and operation of machinery and equipment and the analysis and assessment of their functional capabilities. Graduates are prepared to work in interdisciplinary teams, solve problems: constructing, manufacturing, operation, servicing and diagnostics of mechatronic machines and equipment. Graduates are prepared to work in the industry producing mechatronic systems: electrical engineering, food industry, farmaceutical and hemical industry, home appliances, aerospace, machine tools, and other industries operating mechatronic systems and equipment, as well as in offices etc.
