The Career Development and Lifelong Learning Office of the University of Montenegro, in collaboration with the Student Parliament of UCG, is organizing the Open Doors Day of the University of Montenegro and the Seasonal Employment Fair - Summer Job 2024, on Wednesday, March 6th, at the University Campus in Podgorica, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The Summer Job fair will continue the next day, March 7th, at the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality in Kotor, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
The Open Doors Day event, themed "Open the doors to your future," provides an opportunity for all high school seniors to explore enrollment and study options at UCG. Prospective students will have the chance to interact with professors, associates, and student representatives from all university units, exchanging information about the fields of study that interest them and asking questions to make the best decision about their choice of faculty. This event offers future students the chance to gather all the necessary information to assist them in choosing their faculty and study programs. Additionally, visitors will have the opportunity to learn about university life, including sports and cultural activities, student organizations, accommodation conditions, as well as mobility programs that allow them to spend part of their studies at European universities.
As part of the Open Doors Day event, UCG will traditionally present the Center for International Cooperation and Career Development, including the Office for International Cooperation and Mobility, the Office for Career Development and Lifelong Learning, the Francophone Employment Office, and the Project Office.
Through established cooperation and continuous communication with coordinators from all high schools in Montenegro, high school seniors are informed about the event where they will have the opportunity to clarify any doubts regarding their further educational path. Additionally, through collaboration with municipalities in Montenegro, transportation is provided to facilitate access to this important event for high school seniors. It is expected to have between 3000 and 4000 visitors.
Summer job 2024
Seasonal Employment Fair - Summer Job 2024 is traditionally held for the 16th year and represents an opportunity for all interested individuals to easily find seasonal employment.
The Fair will feature a large number of reputable employers from all over Montenegro in the field of tourism and related industries, who are opening their doors to young people and providing opportunities to gain their first work experience. This year’s fair will showcase about 80 prestigious employers from across Montenegro to students and high school graduates. Over 2000 open positions are available in various hotels, restaurants, tourist agencies, and other companies. All visitors will have the opportunity to explore the employers’ offerings and gather information on all other details. For all young people, this is a real opportunity to present themselves in the best light and choose a job that suits them.
So far, over 10,000 high school and college students have gained their first work experience through Summer Job, and every year about 80 employers offering over 2000 open positions for seasonal employment participate, making this project recognized as the largest event of its kind involving representatives of the business sector.
The event is organized by the Student Parliament of UCG in cooperation with the Career Development and Lifelong Learning Office of UCG, with the support of partners: the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, the Employment Agency of Montenegro, the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare, the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the Ministry of Tourism, Ecology, Sustainable Development, and Development of the North, the Secretariat for Local Self-Government and Cooperation with Civil Society of the Capital City of Podgorica, the Municipality of Kotor, the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro, and the National Tourism Organization of Montenegro.
