Rector of the University of Montenegro prof. Danilo Nikolić met today with the newly appointed Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Liu Jinan and his associates.

Rector Nikolic pointed out the traditionally good cooperation of the University with the Chinese Embassy in the realization of activities and assistance in the work of the Confucius Institute at the University of Montenegro.

"Considering the intensified cooperation between China and Montenegro in the economy, industry, culture and tourism, there is an increasing need for the development of cooperation between the University of Montenegro and other higher education institutions in China, as well as the definition of priority areas in science and research and realization of concrete joint projects "Said Rector Nikolic at the meeting.

He added that there is an evident and growing need for Chinese language learning and consideration of the possibility of introducing Chinese as an elective subject at the Faculty of Philology of the University of Montenegro.

Over the past period, academic staff and University students had more opportunities to visit the partner institution Cangsa University of Science and Technology. Further exchange of students of masters and doctoral studies, gaining experience in Chinese scientific institutions and laboratories would yield results in joint scientific research.

"It is a good time to concretise various forms of cooperation," concluded Nikolic, adding that an excellent opportunity for this could be within the framework of the Border and Travelian, and the upcoming international conference "Trends in Tourism and Hotel Development". The conference is organized by the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality and Faculty of Maritime Studies on 11 October this year.

Ambassador Jin expressed gratitude to the University's management of support in co-operation with Chinese partners and expressed satisfaction with the results of the Confucius Institute's work.

He stressed that his priorities in this mandate were in accordance with Nikolic's proposals and that he would provide all the necessary support for further activities.Also, he added, the 16 + 1 mechanism The path and path will provide frameworks for even better co-operation in the field of higher education.
