Professors of the University of Maribor, Jernej Turk, PhD and Andrej Škraba, PhD are on a working visit to the University of Montenegro within the project Reform of doctoral studies in Montenegro and Albania, an example of good practice - MARDS.

The University of Maribor is one of the key partners of our university in the implementation of international doctoral studies Sustainable Development, which arose as a result of this project, within the Erasmus + program for capacity building in the field of higher education.

The majority of doctoral students in Sustainable Development stay at this university on basis of a compulsory stay at a foreign university, which is one of the conditions for academic and research progress in these studies.

During their visit to the University of Montenegro, professors of the University of Maribor had meetings with the Rector of the University of Montenegro, Vladimir Božović, PhD, President of the Center for Doctoral Studies, Boris Vukićević, PhD, as well as with representatives of other Montenegrin partners in the project - the Chamber of Commerce and the University of Donja Gorica, and the representative of the Erasmus + Office in Montenegro, Ms. Vanja Drljević.

Their host on behalf of the University of Montenegro was Radovan Stojanović, PhD, Head of the Doctoral Program Sustainable Development.

"Colleagues from the University of Maribor do not hide their satisfaction with achievements of this program in Montenegro, especially with the quality of doctoral students and their dedication," Professor Stojanović said.

They also visited the University of Shkodra, where another doctoral program will soon begin as a result of the MARDS project "Sustainable Development in Economy and Tourism", which will further contribute to the traditionally good, cross-border cooperation between Montenegro and Albania.
