Delegation of the University of Montenegro, led by the Rector of UMNE, Vladimir Božović, PhD met today with the Rector of the University of Granada Pilar Aranda Ramírez, PhD at the Rectorate of the Spanish University, as part of a visit organized on the basis of an Erasmus + bilateral agreement between UMNE and the University of Granada.

 

At the meeting, Rector Božović presented the University of Montenegro as a center of scientific research, cultural, artistic and innovative creativity and development of Montenegro. According to Rector Božović, the University strives to strengthen its position as the leading scientific research institution in the country through international cooperation and project activities aimed at supporting scientific research capacities. Therefore, he pointed out, bilateral cooperation programs, such as the one with the University of Granada, which provide students, researchers and academic staff with the opportunity to exchange knowledge and skills at the international level, are of key importance.

 

The Rector of the Spanish University, Aranda Ramirez, expressed her readiness to continue the cooperation with the University of Montenegro, which was made official through the signing of the contract, and which proved to be of high quality through previous experience. She presented in more detail the capacities of the state university, founded in southern Spain in 1531, by Charles V of Habsburg and I by Spain.

 

It is the fourth largest university in this country, and in addition to the central campus in Granada, it has two relocated campuses in the North African Spanish enclaves of Ceuta and Melilla. This also makes it the only European university with campuses on two continents. It is one of the most popular destinations within the Erasmus + program, which is why in 2013 it won the International Student Satisfaction Gold. On the Shanghai ranking list, it is ranked among the 300 best universities in the world (ARWU 2016). Among the most famous alumni is Federico García Lorca.

Delegation of the University of Montenegro also included the Vice-Rector for Internationalization visited the Spanish University Sanja Peković, PhD, vice-rector for teaching Veselin Mićanović, PhD and the Dean of the Faculty of Dramatic Arts Edin Jašarović, Assistant Professor.

 

During the visit, the delegation had meetings within the Spanish University, with leaders of the Faculty of Arts, the Unit for Quality, Innovation in Teaching and Planning and the Center for Technology Transfer.
