At the Doors Open Day of the University of Montenegro, Rector of the UoM, Danilo Nikolic welcomed today more than 3000 graduates who came today from all over Montenegro to acquaint with the oldest and largest institution of higher education in Montenegro, which offers comprehensive higher education in accordance with the standards and dynamics of the European academic area.

‘It is my great pleasure to see smart, diligent, talented young people who observe their future through the prism of academic knowledge and vocation through ambitious professional beliefs and orientations and through a socially responsible perspective of intellectual awareness and conscience’, Rector Nikolic said.

He said that the goal of the University of Montenegro is to improve the competences, work and life of students. Primarily, through a multidisciplinary educational portfolio with 160 study programs and 300 modular orientations, then through quality teaching interaction and scientific research practice, with over 700 professors and associates, through projects of international mobility and professional development at more than 100 partner universities, as well as through numerous social, cultural and sport contents and activities.

 ‘Our commitment is to successfully prepare you for future careers. It is our responsibility to justify the values and the power of knowledge on the way of your personal and professional development. Our promise is to promote you into future leaders of Montenegrin society’, Rector Nikolic stated.

The Doors Open Day at the University Sport and Cultural Center were organized by the Career Development Center of the UoM in the cooperation with the Student Parliament of the UoM (SPUCG).

The Minister of Education, Damir Sehovic, addressed the attendees, emphasizing that a thorough approach to own potentials cannot be performed without an initial step that is the provision of existing study programs of training, exchange and practice.

 ‘I may doubtlessly say there is an envious level of such programs in Montenegro, over 100 programs of studying engaging 700 lecturers, provide education in the filed you are interested in and which is your future occupation. Around 300 students participate in exchange programs every year, whereas around 100 students gain scholarships of foreign governments annually’, Minister Sekovic said.

Deputy Mayor of Podgorica, Caslav Vesovic, welcomed future members of the academic community, stressing the responsibility of the Capital to provide them a system in which they will achieve their life goals, and through focusing on the professions and occupations of the modern age that are required and deficient.

Representatives of all 19 university faculties of the University of Montenegro today introduced future students with study programs and work of faculties, as well as the possibilities for employment upon completion of that higher education institution.

Today, graduates and students could receive information on scholarships from foreign governments directly from representatives of the embassies of those states in Montenegro, as well as on the possibilities of exchange and conditions of studying at universities throughout Europe, at the stand of the Center for International Cooperation and Career Development of the University of Montenegro.
