SMART4ALL - second open call for Technology Transfer Experiments between different areas

SMART4ALL invites interested companies and institutions from Montenegro to apply for grants under the second open call for funding of technology transfer experiments between different areas (Cross-domain Technology Transfer Experiments - CTTE). These grants are part of the Horizon 2020 SMART4ALL project supported by the European Union, which aims to connect digital innovation hubs across Europe.

SMART4ALL digital innovation hub aims to build capacity among European actors through the development of self-sustaining cross-border experiments through the transfer of knowledge and technology between academia and industry. The experiments funded by the project are from the field of customized low energy computing cyberphysical systems and the IoT, which combine a set of unique characteristics that in a common vision merge into different cultures, different policies, different geographical areas and different domains. applications.

Technology transfer experiments between different areas are short-term CPS and IoT experiments lasting 6 to 9 months that aim to establish cooperation between project partners who will develop an innovative product from one or more verticals defined by the SMART4ALL project. The mentioned verticals refer to: digitalized transport, digitalized agriculture, digitalized environment and digitized anything (Digitized Anything). CTTE will provide the opportunity to create synergies, accelerate production-oriented projects and lead to successful commercialization.

The application for CTTE grants must include three different legal entities from at least two countries that are eligible under the H2020 rules. Legal entities refer to an academic / industrial technology provider that transfers new technology to an industrial partner designated as the recipient of the technology and a third industrial partner that will expand the value chain of the product obtained as a result of the experiment through production and marketing. These partners are required to create a project consortium through which to submit a joint grant application.

Who can apply for CTTE?

  • The following types of applicants can be included in the consortium:
  • Universities and other academic institutions, only as technology providers
  • Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and larger companies (Slightly Bigger Companies), according to the definitions from the EU recommendation 2003/361. Larger companies are defined as organizations with up to 500 employees and whose annual turnover does not exceed EUR 100 million.
  • System integrators and / or technology providers, ie. all organizations that specialize in technology transfer or system integration, serving the needs of end users, provided that they can be classified in one of the aforementioned types of users.

Countries that can be involved in the project are: EU members (including the United Kingdom), countries associated with H2020, and all other countries of Southeast Europe not listed above, which are included in Annex A of the H2020 Work Program.

Since the goal of the SMART4ALL project is to support the digital transformation of those European countries that are otherwise underrepresented in EU funding schemes by enabling them to conduct cross-border experiments, consortia consisting of at least one legal entity from Southeast European countries will have an advantage in scoring. Priority countries are: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Serbia.

The consortium MUST NOT have partners who are part of the SMART4ALL project.
