Invitation to participate in the Jean Monnet - Introduction to EU Summer School organized by the Zagreb School of Economics and Management

This summer, in the academic year 2023/2024, the Zagreb School of Economics and Management (ZŠEM) is organizing a free of charge Summer School focusing on the subject Introduction to EU within the Jean Monnet Module project ORPHEUS (Organization, Preparation and Hosting EU Studies) coordinated by Tomislav Sokol (ZŠEM), prominent scientist in the field of European Union studies and the representative of the Republic of Croatia in the current convocation of the European Parliament. ORPHEUS represents a project that actively promotes the values and goals of the European Union through the subject Introduction to EU, which is part of the official curriculum of the Zagreb School of Economics and Management, as well as through its summer school.

In addition to the course itself, the Jean Monnet - Introduction to EU summer school at ZŠEM also offers an interesting program, including a visit to the Croatian unicorn Rimac Automobili and a tour of the city of Zagreb as part of Zagreb Summer event. Participating in the Jean Monnet - Introduction to EU summer school would be of great benefit to the students, opening up further opportunities and broadening their understanding of the values and strengths of the European Union.

The Zagreb School of Economics and Management is part of the EMMIE - Erasmus Mundus Master in Impact Entrepreneurship project. It is an 18-month masters study, which is conducted in regular study periods of 6 months at: ZŠEM, ISM University of Management and Economics (Lithuania) and HEC LIege-University of Liege (Belgium). It is the only Masters program within Erasmus Mundus in the field of entrepreneurship with an emphasis on social impact. Candidates who have completed at least 4 years of undergraduate studies (with a diploma) and have achieved 240 ECTS are accepted, regardless of the scientific field. There is a possibility of full scholarships (tuition paid, as well as a stipend of 1,400 eur during 18 months of study), self-financing studies (tuition for 18 months totals 13,500 eur, the candidate bears the costs of housing and living during studies). So far, the 1st generation of EMMIE students have completed their studies, and have met the requirements for diplomas from all three higher education institutions. The 3rd generation of students is currently being enrolled - the opportunity to apply for scholarships for the 3rd generation has been closed, but students can still enrol for self-financing studies. Applications for the 4th generation are expected to open in October 2024.

Attached is a brochure for the Jean Monnet Summer School - Introduction to EU with a link for student registration (at the end of page 2 of the brochure). The number of places is limited.
