The Ambassador of France visited the University of Montenegro
The Acting Rector of the University of Montenegro full prof. Vladimir Božović, PhD and Vice-Rector for Internationalization assoc. prof. Sanja Peković, PhD met today, at the Rectorate of the University of Montenegro, with the Ambassador of the Republic of France to Montenegro, Cristian Thimonier, and his first advisor, Mr. Laurent Goncalves, and discussed the existing and the establishment of broader cooperation.
Rector Božović pointed out the good results of cooperation so far between our two countries resulting from bilateral cooperation, joint projects, membership in the Association of Francophone Universities, and the establishment of the Balkan Institute for Science and Innovation at UCG, as a result of mutual support and interest between UCG and University of the Cote d'Azur. Vice-Rector Peković presented the realized projects in more detail. In addition to well-developed relations in the realization of student and staff mobility, and cooperation with colleagues from France in the promotion and support of French language learning at our University, he points out that accreditation of joint doctoral programs is of great importance and establishment of research groups from both countries.
Ambassador Thimonier appreciates that further cooperation in science and research is a priority, that there is a need to establish a structural program for exchange opportunities, and to define priority fields of cooperation at the University level, which may have a regional dimension. He supports the activities of the University in the field of French language promotion and emphasizes that in that part there is a need to increase the role of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports. Mr. Goncalves, who is also the director of the French Cultural Center, emphasized the role of this Center, as an institution that the University can rely on to support the implementation of activities and future projects.
