Days of Engineers from April 21 to 27 - scientific conference, engineering competition and workshops

Within the project "Days of Engineers", from April 21 to 27, a scientific conference, engineering competition and workshops for students will be organized. The aim of this project is to acquaint young people in Montenegro with opportunities for employment, study, finding a career and to awaken in them a spirit of research. The event is marked by:

STEMcon (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) - a conference that brings together eminent engineers, university professors and company representatives, who will give lectures on this field, the position of young engineers today and world innovations in engineering that change the world, interesting things in this field or inspirational stories from their lives. The mentioned lectures will be held with the aim of inspiring young people in Montenegro and to show what the opportunities are for the development of our society in these areas. Due to the current measures to combat the pandemic in Montenegro and Podgorica, this year's conference will be organized in the form of podcast interviews with lecturers and will be published on social networks, one interview per day.

In addition to the conference, the EBEC engineering competition for students is organized (the largest of its kind in Montenegro). Student teams have the opportunity to compete in two categories: case study and team design. Team design means finding a technical and project solution for a given problem with certain limited resources, while the case study includes designing a conceptual solution for a given problem of corporate or business nature. The competition in both categories lasts one day, gathering several teams of 4 members. The competition is held on April 24 and 25 in the building of technical faculties.

The winners receive free participation in the regional round of the EBEC Alps-Balkans competition, where they compete with the best engineers from Skopje, Belgrade, Mostar, Nis, Novi Sad, Sofia, Maribor, Ljubljana, Erlangen, Frankfurt and Podgorica, as well as numerous valuable prizes. The winners of the regional round of the competition will participate in the final round, the location of which will be revealed in a timely manner by the international BEST.

A BESTutorial is also held as part of the event. As part of this segment of the project, workshops will be organized within which trainings are organized for registered participants led by eminent experts in the given fields. Participants will be able to improve their knowledge and skills in one of two workshops - hard and soft skills. The Hard Skills workshop will be held on the topic of “Photographic Postproduction”, and the Soft Skills workshop on the topic of “Successful Communication Models”. The BESTutorial will be held on April 22 and 23 this year.

Applications for participation in the competition, conference or workshop, as well as more information about the event, can be found on the website www.best.ac.me.

The event is organized by BEST (Board of European Students of Technology), an apolitical student organization that has been providing communication, cooperation and exchange of European students since 1989 and has over 3800 members in 33 European countries in a total of 93 local groups. The mission of this organization is to establish communication and cooperation among European students, to enable them to exchange knowledge and experiences, all with the aim of developing their global thought, getting to know other cultures, mutual understanding and training for further work.
