The University of Montenegro and the Council of Europe together to improve the quality of education

Rector of the University of Montenegro full prof. Vladimir Božović, PhD and vice-rector for internationalization assoc. prof. Sanja Peković, PhD met today with the Head of the Office of the Council of Europe in Montenegro Evgenija Jakumopoulou, Program Manager in the Department of Education of the Council of Europe (Strasbourg) Vesna Atanasova and Marija Merdović. The meeting defined activities when it comes to future projects in the field of academic integrity and quality improvement in education.

Rector Božović said that through joint efforts of the University of Montenegro and the Council of Europe in Montenegro, mechanisms and methodologies have been established to improve the quality of learning and teaching, which is especially important today, in the circumstances of work imposed by the pandemic.

The Head of the Council of Europe Office in Montenegro, Evgenija Jakumopoulou, pointed out the excellent cooperation with the University of Montenegro, and emphasized that the strong, open and reliable relationship that was built in the previous period will only be further upgraded through new areas of joint action.

Vice-Rector Peković emphasized that the importance of academic integrity is present in all aspects of education, and that it is very important for the University to increase the number of different actors who will, through project activities, participate in strengthening the educational process. She emphasized the importance of courses on academic integrity developed with the help of a joint project of the European Union and the Council of Europe.

The program manager in the Department of Education of the Council of Europe, Vesna Atanasova, said that in the future, they will work on organizing as many workshops, online courses, additional trainings in terms of raising awareness of academic integrity.
