Culture is a homeland of all of us, and the synergy of scientific and artistic potential of Montenegro is key to creating improvement in science, culture, art and education, concluded today's meeting organized at the University of Montenegro, which was visited by a delegation of the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts headed by the President, Academician Dragan K. Vukčević.

 

Rector of the University Vladimir Božović, PhD, expressed satisfaction for arrival of the MASA delegation, and said that there is a handful of topics for discussion of these two institutions, related to already achieved cooperation and implementation of the Agreement, as well as proposals for other forms of cooperation, specifically having in mind thematic forums lectures and discussions.

 

"I am sure that in addition to the things that have been initially initiated so far, we will work even harder and harder on some new things that are now in sight, and I believe that some others that are no less important and significant for both will emerge." institutions ", Rector Božović said.

 

President Vukčević thanked for the invitation and hospitality and said that today's meeting organized at the University of Montenegro, in order to continue already initiated cooperation, carries a message itself, adding that it is natural for institutions that inherit culture as their homeland to work together that is best reflected in sensibility of the current administration of UMNE to initiate joint meetings.

 

"It is very important to point out a couple of messages and facts that would be important, above all that the role of the Academy and the University is to defend autonomy of opinion and scientific and artistic work of their institutions." I think that we should insist on that, on the principle of modernity that needs to be defended and upgraded ", he said and explained that the second fact is a synergy of scientific potential in Montenegro, while emphasizing that the third fact concerns intellectuals who, as he stated, are committed.

 

Chairwoman of the Steering Committee Rajka Glušica, PhD, said that it is duty of both institutions to help development of society, and that in order to do so, they open connections such as today's meeting and finding common conclusions.

"It is a special pleasure that we are on the same task, and a long stay of current academics at the University guarantees fruitful cooperation in future joint work," Chairwoman Glušica added.

 

MASA Vice President Academician Ljubisa Stankovic concluded that, after two joint scientific forums organized at UMNE, it is a positive phenomenon that meetings take form of continuity, especially considering the fact that out of 38 members of the Academy, 30 are from UCG. The Vice-Rector for internationalization, Sanja Peković, PhD and a member of the Coordination Board for the implementation of the Agreement between these two institutions, Boris Vukićević, PhD, and on behalf of CANU Secretary General, Academician Dragan Radonjić, Secretary of the Department of Natural Sciences, Academician Predrag Miranović, Secretary of the Department of Social Sciences, Academician Zoran Rašović, as well as the Head of the MASA Service, Marina Vukićević.
