Competition for Prizes in the field of Natural Sciences within the L’Oréal-UNESCO Program for Women in Science

The L’Oreal-UNESCO International Award for Women in Science, established in 1998, recognizes and supports eminent women in science around the world. Each year, five laureates receive recognition for their contribution to the advancement of science in various fields (natural sciences, mathematics and computer science), and awards are given each year for various fields.

The International Awards for 2023 will be given to five outstanding scientists in the field of natural sciences, mathematics and computer science, who work in the following regions:

  • Africa and Arab states
  • Asia and the Pacific
  • Europe
  • Latin America and the Caribbean
  • North America

One candidate will be selected for each of the five regions, with the deciding factor being the candidate's place of work in the last five years, not nationality. Each of the five laureates will receive a prize of 100,000 euros.
