Campaign “Blood is not Water” Started

Rector of the University of Montenegro professor Radmila Vojvodic and Director of the Institute for Blood Transfusion of Montenegro Gordana Rašović signed Memorandum on Cooperation which already started by voluntary action of blood donation.

Action started under symbolic slogan of the campaign “Blood is not Water”, and in cooperation of the University, Student Parliament of the University of Montenegro as well as of Institute for Transfusion.  

„I count that this year’s action will gather not only students but also teachers and associates of the University of Montenegro and all of us making academic community“, Rector Vojvodic said announcing a long term contribution of academic community to voluntary blood donation.

She added that campaign “Blood is not Water”, the University aspires to, next to traditional family blood donation, raise awareness on importance of humanitarian work especially at the institution of the University which is obliged to do this as its mission.

 „We are optimistic when it comes to success of our cooperation, proof is today’s action where more than 50 students came to offer blood“, Director of the Institute for Blood Transfusion Gordana Rasovic said.

„Our common assignment“, she added, “is in future every Montenegrin student is familiar with importance of voluntary blood donation for overall health system of a country, since it implies timely providing of this humane remedy, for all the ones who need it“.

President of the Student Parliament of the University of Montenegro Sara Arriana Serhatlic said that action would not be so successful without the help of student representatives of all university units being members of Student Parliament of the University of Montenegro. 

„It was nice to donate blood for the first time, to express consciousness on humanity and to contribute health of people in Montenegro“, Serhatlic concluded.
