The University of Montenegro partners in Erasmus+ project DigiCreate for enhancing digital skills and intercultural dialogue

The University of Montenegro (UoM) is participating as a partner in the DigiCreate project, approved under the 2024 Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) call. The project, with a total budget of half a million euros, allocates around €60,000 to UoM.

The DigiCreate project aims to address the needs of young people (aged 18–30) facing a lack of intercultural competencies, media literacy, and digital skills, particularly in the creative and cultural industries (CCI) sector. Through 36 months of virtual exchanges, the project will enable at least 2,500 young people from six countries (Germany, Spain, Portugal, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia) to acquire essential digital and entrepreneurial skills required for the CCI sector.

The Vice-Rector for Education at the University of Montenegro, Prof. Dr. Veselin Mićanović, who serves as the UoM project coordinator, emphasized the significance of the universitys role in the project:

“Participating in the DigiCreate project is of immense importance to the University of Montenegro as it addresses key challenges of today’s society, including the lack of digital and entrepreneurial competencies among young people, as well as the need for intercultural dialogue. As a partner, UoM has undertaken the responsibility of organizing the final virtual conference, which will gather 90 participants from six countries. During this two-day event, participants will present their final creative works and the outcomes of the collaboration achieved through the DigiCreate methodological framework.

Additionally, the University of Montenegro ensures broad dissemination of the results via digital platforms, including session recordings, presentation materials, and session summaries. These resources will be critical for the general public and project participants, ensuring the long-term impact and sustainability of the outcomes. Our goal is to provide young people with high-quality international and intercultural education accessible to everyone, without requiring physical mobility.”

The DigiCreate project is coordinated by Youth Power Germany EV from Germany, with partners from Spain, Portugal, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro: Evolutionary Archetypes Consultings SL (Spain), Contextos - Cooperativa para o Desenvolvimento (Portugal), Union Nikola Tesla University (Serbia), Okret Association (Bosnia and Herzegovina), NGO Glas (Montenegro), the Faculty of Business Economics and Law in Bar (Montenegro), and the University of Montenegro (Montenegro).

Project results include digital tools such as the DigiCreate methodological framework, an online platform, creative resources, and Youthpass certificates for participants. The project is expected to significantly strengthen youth competencies, promote intercultural dialogue, and enhance collaboration among participants at the international level.
