Young Generations on the Paths of Their Seniors
Professors of the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education of the University of Montenegro continued anthropometric measurements beyond the borders of our country, thus, they implemented measurements of cadet and junior footballers of FC Siroki Brijeg in the same town.
Measurements were performed by Dusko Bjelica, PhD, Jovan Gardasevic, MSc, Ivan Vasiljevic, MSc and Marin Corluka, PhD from the Faculty of natural Science Mathematics and Education of the University in Mostar.
FC Siroki Brijeg is one of the most successful members of the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina and they play Europa League qualifications every season. Juniors and cadets of the club are always among the best teams in BH, Professor Corluka said.
Head of the football school FC Siroki Brijeg, Toni Karacic, junior trainer Ante Kokic and cadet trainers Niko Kovacic and Stanko Bubalo, who attended the measurements, had a detail insight in metabolism parameters, percentage fat and muscle mass values as well as segment analysis of subcutaneous fat tissue. Trainer were successful members of the Siroki Brijeg, whereas trainer Stanko Bubalo was member and player of Osjek, Hajduk in Split and several clubs in Austria.
Professor Bjelica expressed satisfaction with the results obtained and stated that management of the FK Siroki Brijeg, which achieves success in the Premier League of BH, should not worry about its future. He also emphasized that football belongs to a group of polystructural cyclic and acyclical movements and that morphological diagnosis in young footballers is of fundamental and basic significance.
