On the University of Montenegro Meeting Held on Newly Approved Erasmus+ Projects

Meeting of coordinators and nonacademic partners of newly selected Erasmus+ projects for building capacities within the higher education area in 2019 in Montenegro is held today in the Rectorate of the University of Montenegro.  

National Erasmus + Office organized meeting with coordinators and representatives of projects, in order to meet each other and present new projects before the implementation. They talked about project and financial management and possible challenges and obstacles occurring in project implementation.

Importance of this meeting is reflected in for the first time in local level presented goals and expected results of projects, in the same time defined steps important in the beginning so to facilitate further project implementation.

Vice-Rector for International Cooperation of the University of Montenegro, Natasa Kostic, PhD, welcomed the present and expressed pleasure since in this call the University of Montenegro got three coordinating projects which maximum number of projects per institution. Next to three coordinating, the University of Montenegro participates in three more partner projects. 

‘Erasmus + projects in capacity building in higher education are a very important mechanism for improvement of quality of teaching and teaching processes, encourage internationalization in the University, and through projects of international credit mobility a new forms of cooperation with foreign partners are developed’, Vice-Rector said.  

Coordinator of Erasmus+ office Vanja Drljević said that within Erasmus+ competition 2019 crucial are 2 capacity buildings in the area of higher education from our country, which is record in terms of by now participation of our universities in the Erasmus+ program.   

Mrs. Drljević especially emphasized importance of institutionalization of projects, establishing good communication among local partners and synergy with other similar projects.

Vice – Rector Kostic presented structural coordinating project named ‘Strengthening Internationalization in Montenegrin institutions of higher education through efficient strategic planning’ (IESP).  

Two more coordinating projects were presented ‘Legal Counseling for Endangered Social Groups: Increase of Employment of Students of Law through Practice’ (ENEMLOS) and ‘Reform of Foreign Languages in Higher Education Institutions in Montenegro’ (REFLAME).

Next to coordinating projects there was discussion about partner projects: ‘Sustainable Development of ‘blue economy’ through higher education and innovations in the Western Balkans countries’ (BLUEWBC), ‘Studying Based on Problems in Business with the Aim to Achieve Academic Excellence in the field of Geoinformatics’ (GEOBIZ) and Connecting Universities and Companies with the Aim to Encourage regional Innovations and Entrepreneurial Activities’ (KnowHub).

On this occasion Erasmus+ info day was announced and it will be held on November 18th 2019 in the Rectorate of the University of Montenegro with the aim to inform public about results made by Montenegro within Erasmus+ program, the largest program of the EU in the field of education.
