Rector of the University of Montenegro and President of the Chamber of Commerce Solemnly Awarded Students for Best Startups

Rector of the University of Montenegro, Danilo Nikolic, PhD, and President of the Chamber of Commerce Vlastimir Golubovic today, on the University of Montenegro, solemnly awarded students for three best startups of the Competition announced by the Career Development Centre of the University of Montenegro. The awarded students are Dragana Vujisić, Andrea Mićanović, Aleksa Vujošević and Nikola Kadić.

Rector Nikolić pointed out that the University of Montenegro fully supports its students in stepping into the world of entrepreneurship hence taking an important role of incubator of innovative activity by encouraging and educating students so their ideas could find their way to the market.  

„University of Montenegro with its Development Strategy 2024 has clearly been dedicated to intensify activities directed to education in the field of entrepreneurship and innovations with the aim to create individuals and quality teams on the University that have an open perspective in entrepreneurial path, so it is needed to provide them with maximum help in developing their business ideas”, Rector Nikolic said.  

Manager of the Career Center UMNE Ivica Todorovic announced enrolment of second generation of attendees for beginners training in business that will be ended by the announced Competition for the best startup idea with fund for award of over 1.500 Euros.   

President of the Chamber of Commerce Vlastimir Golubovic expressed his pleasure with the result of cooperation among the Chamber of Commerce and the University of Montenegro.   

„We continuously work on improvement of business ambient with educating staff, improvement of innovation and competence of the young about entrepreneurship, starting up of their own business as well as development of entrepreneurial culture. Development of entrepreneurial skills, competences and knowledge of the young hence increasing chances for employment and the Chamber is always ready to support such and related activities.“, Mr. Golubović said.

On behalf of awarded students, first ranked participant Dragana Vujisic expressed gratitude for encouraging and recognizing potentials of the young and innovative people who should not stop here but to continue working on themselves and their ideas.    

First award, given by the University of Montenegro, evenly of up to 1500 euros is awarded to the projects: EcoSwApp student of the Faculty of Economics Dragana Vujisic and Experience with me student of the Faculty of Law Andrea Micanovic.  

Second award in the amount of 1000 euros given by the Chamber of Commerce was awarded to students of the Faculty of Science and Mathematics UMNE Aleksa Vujosevic and Nikola Kadic for the KOLOS project.

Awards were given in the presence of the members of the Competition Commission: Irena Orovic, PhD, Nikola Milovic, PhD and dr Nina Drakic.
