SPUMNE President: Students got Used to Online teaching, but the Professor-Student Live Relation the Most Productive

President of the Student Parliament of the University of Montenegro, Danilo Jelovac, said for the website of the University of Montenegro that during online classes, there were no objections to online classes arriving to the address of this body representing students from entire University.

He believes that students, since enforcement of temporary measures to prevent spread of the COVID 19 virus and the suspension of teaching in traditional way, in classrooms and amphitheaters, have very quickly become accustomed to online teaching.

As classes were organized through Zoom, Moodle platforms, electronic forms of communication, e-mail, Viber, Facebook and other online communication groups, online knowledge test will be conducted. In addition, communication with administration was supported by student commissioners, members of the Student Parliament of the University of Montenegro, who helped in resolving any difficulties in electronic communication.

Likewise, he says, a pre-exam online test will take place.

"As for taking colloquium and exams, I am sure that everyone who was able to adequately implement a certain test of knowledge has already done so. Given the specifics of individual subjects, knowledge tests will be organized when we return to classrooms and amphitheaters. As for the final exams, we hope that they will be held within the legally prescribed deadline and that their organization will be in accordance with the regulations adopted by the National Coordination Body for Infectious Diseases and the Government of Montenegro, " Jelovac said.

Based on impressions of the students, he says that they are satisfied with what is possible for them at this moment, and that they attended the lectures in a large percentage.

As a student and commissioner of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, from his experience, Jelovac states that teaching is performed smoothly, students do individual tasks, which the teaching staff regularly checks and evaluates.

But, Jelovac points out, we must be aware that live professor-student relation is still the best and most productive. Also, we must be aware of the fact that a certain type of teaching could not be held through online teaching, above all here I mean laboratory exercises, practical classes and the like, " Jelovac said.

He also reminded that, at beginning of the whole situation with coronavirus, the Student Parliament sent a letter to the University of Montenegro for deadline prolongation for the payment of the tuition fee, as approved by the University.
