The Senate of the University of Montenegro Proposes 3,486 Vacancies for Enrolment in Undergraduate and 1,995 Vacancies for Enrolment in a Two-Year Master Studies

At the electronic session held today, the Senate of the University of Montenegro determined the proposal on number of students for enrolment in the first year of undergraduate studies at the University of Montenegro for the study year 2020/21 which envisages a total of 3,486 vacancies and a proposal on the number of students for enrolment in the first year of the new two-year master's studies for the 2020/2021 academic which envisages 1,995 positions. 

Proposal of the number of students for enrolment in the first year of undergraduate studies for the academic 2020/21 year, as well as master studies for the study year 2020/2021, which are based on proposals of the council of university units, stay within last year's proposal for enrolment and are in accordance with the decision of the Ministry of Education which determines the maximum number of students for enrolment. 

When proposing number of students for enrolment in the first year of undergraduate studies financed from the budget, the Senate was guided by standards of teaching quality, the number of teaching staff, the financial basis for implementation of individual study programs, and the legal ratio of students to teaching staff. When proposing number of students for enrolment in a two-year master's studies, which are organized for the first time for this academic year, according to the reformed model (3 + 2), with budget funds, the Senate was guided by the number of students in final year of undergraduate studies, the number of teaching staff, financial basis for implementation of an individual study program, as well as legal liaison between the number of students and teaching staff. 

Both proposals are justified from the aspect of employability and demand on the labour market in Montenegro in accordance with the document Analysis of supply, demand and employment in the labour market in Montenegro of the Employment Bureau, which when determining the proposals organizational units had in mind, spatial and personnel capacities of organizational units, as well as the expressed interest of candidates for enrolment. 

An integral part of these decisions is the Opinion with explanation of the Quality Assurance Centre of the University of Montenegro. 

Proposals of the Senate of the University of Montenegro will be submitted for further consideration to the Steering Committee of the University of Montenegro, which will make a decision on the proposal of the number of students for enrolment in undergraduate and master studies, and the final decision will be made by the Government of Montenegro.
