Promotion of DAAD Scholarships at the University of Montenegro
At the University of Montenegro, promotion of German scholarships DAAD was held today offering again this year master, research and other scholarships to our students as well as intensive language courses.
Vice-Rector of the University of Montenegro Natasa Kostic, PhD, said that the University of Montenegro recognizes international mobility of students, academic and nonacademic staff as an important segment of activities directed to higher international position of the University, so that students, professors and researchers should in a best way take cease benefits of a long cooperation of the University of Montenegro with universities and scientific institutions of Germany.
‘Cooperation is implemented though joint projects, outgoing and incoming mobility of students, teaching and non-teaching staff and through research, teaching and professional activities’, she said.
Through lectureship at study program for German Language and Literature of the Faculty of Philology, as stated by the Vice-Rector, we have a multiyear cooperation also with German Service for Academic Exchange – DAAD, and Info Days on scholarships offered confirm eagerness of students of the University of Montenegro to continue education in Germany, as well as interest of our professors and researchers to do part of their research in some of German higher-education institutions.
The Vice-Rector announced that, at this point, the University of Montenegro has signed bilateral agreements for credit mobility with German universities in Berlin, Marburg, Heidelberg, Freiberg, Saarbrucken and Friezing starting from this academic year.
‘Within these agreements, for the past three years, at the University of Montenegro lectures were held by 19 professors from Germany, while from our University 87 students and 52 members of teaching and non-teaching staff stayed in exchange at partner institutions in Germany’, Vice-Rector Natasa Kostic, PhD, said.
Ambassador Deputy of FR of Germany in Montenegro, Kristof Breunig said that academic cooperation of Montenegro and Germany is very important for both countries and its aim is strengthening good German-Montenegrin relations.
About DAAD program and additional opportunities given to students, professors and researchers also spoke lector of DAAD Eli Mak, Director of German Dormitory of Montenegro Jelena Bozovic, alumni of DAAD scholarship Džemal Elezagić, PhD, as well as Marija Lakicevic, scholarship holder of the Program of Scholarships of German economy for countries of the Western Balkans.
They gave answers to questions made by the present participants where they explained what DAAD master scholarships include, research scholarships for PhD studies in duration of maximum four years, short scholarships lasting for 1-6 months, annual scholarships lasting for 7-10 months, research stay for lecturers at the faculty and scientists, summer courses for all students, as well as intensive language courses.
