As part of the Erasmus+ CBHE HAWKING project, which aims to improve access to hiher education for people with disabilities, representatives of the University of Montenegro and members of the consortium visited the University of Nicosia. This three days long study visit from March 4th to 6th provided the participants with opportunity to exchange experiences and gain insight into the best practices of inclusive education and the application of modern technologies in teaching.

The first part of the program was dedicated to creating inclusive educational environments for all students. Dr. Agni Stylianou and Dr. Lefki Kourea presented key strategies and methods that enable equal access to education. A significant part of the visit was devoted to the application of technology in special education. Dr. Kyriakos Demetriou gave a presentation on the use of digital tools and assistive technologies that facilitate the learning process for students with different needs. Particularly interesting was the session dedicated to the application of XR technologies in inclusive education, where participants had the opportunity to explore how virtual and augmented reality can be used to improve the educational experiences of people with disabilities.

On the second day of the visit, the delegation of the HAWKING consortium visited the School for the Deaf Georgios Markou, where they had the opportunity to learn about specialized teaching methods and resources used to support students with hearing impairment.

The exchange of experiences with experts and insights gained into innovative approaches further empowered participants in their efforts to improve the accessibility of higher education for students with disabilities.
