Biography Perović Đurđica

Dr Đurđica Perović is born in Bačka Topola. Primary and secondary education completed in Podgorica, with earning of the prestigious “Luča” diploma. She graduated from the Faculty of Science and Mathematics at the University of Novi Sad, and obtained the title of graduate Geographer-Tourismologist.
Dr Perović defended her master’s thesis entitled “Comparative Advantages of Ethnological and Other Cultural Heritage Values of the Paštrovići Region in the Function of a More Successful Tourism Marketing Approach” at the University of Novi Sad in 2004, earning the academic title of Master of Science in Tourism. In 2008, she obtained her PhD from the Faculty of Science and Mathematics at the University of Novi Sad with the dissertation “The State and Directions of Tourism Development on the Montenegrin Coast for a Successful Market Approach,” earning the scientific title of Doctor of Science in Tourism.
Since 2004, she has been employed at the University of Montenegro.

Expertise and Research Activities As an expert in the field of tourism, she has coordinated and participated in numerous international and national projects implemented by organizations such as UNWTO, USAID, the Ministry of Tourism of Montenegro, the National Tourism Organization, GTZ, and WUS Austria. She has also played a key role in Erasmus+ and HERIC projects and has been involved in several bilateral research projects with China, Slovenia, Serbia, Austria, and Croatia. She has pursued academic training at the University of Trier (Germany) and the University of Bamberg (Germany). As a visiting professor, she has lectured at the University of Varna, MESI University in Moscow, Russian New University in Moscow, and the University of the Côte d’Azur.
She is a reviewer for several scientific journals and a member of the organizing committees of various international conferences. She is also a member of the Governing Board of the UniAdrion network of universities and research centers in the Adriatic-Ionian region. She has participated in over 40 international scientific symposiums, conferences, and congresses on tourism, cultural heritage, sustainable development, and environmental studies.
Her research has resulted in numerous publications in international journals and presentations at national and international scientific conferences.

Academic Engagement She has been elected to the academic ranks of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Full Professor in the fields of Tourism and Tourism Geography. She teaches the following courses at undergraduate, specialist, master’s, and doctoral levels:
•Undergraduate: Fundamentals of Tourism, Tourism Geography, Tourism Regions, Tourism and Cultural Resources
•Graduate and Doctoral: Cultural Tourism, Tourism Attraction Management, Geotourism, Coastal and Mountain Tourism, Geospatial Aspects of Tourism, Tourism Valorization, Sustainable Development, and Environmental Protection
She also contributes to multidisciplinary master’s programs at the Faculty of Biotechnology, Faculty of Maritime Studies, and Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, teaching courses on Rural Tourism, Tourism Valorization, and Sustainable Development and Environment.
